Pain Freedom was founded by Anna Fryxelius, an expert in overcoming chronic illness. By age 25, Anna had experienced autoimmune rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, a complex spinal fracture, several spinal fusion surgeries, and a whiplash injury, causing lifelong pain and disability and leading her medical team to give up on improving her health condition, leaving her bed-bound on disability income, dependent on multiple medications for management of her severe constant pain. Instead of accepting that, she built her own healing system, and implemented it gradually. With knowledge from neuroscience, evidence-based rehabilitation methods, and traditional health philosophies, she combined the best of different modalities in order to radically improve her baseline condition and build the healthy, happy and active life she wanted.
Using this method, Anna reduced her pain and recovered enough physical strength that she was able to complete an 800 km pilgrimage, walking to Santiago de Compostela in 2005. She since has learned traditional Wushu (WuTan style Kung Fu) and resume the hobbies of music, painting, horseback riding and volunteer work that she enjoyed in her teenage years. She was also able to complete a degree in Linguistics, and another in Project Management. She now works full-time as a leader in an NGO health organization, and is an award winning public speaker across Norway and abroad.
Pain Freedom is the culmination of years of work, a simple yet flexible and powerful method, providing people with the scaffolding they need to implement change in their own lives and empower them to work alongside their medical team in crafting a plan to manage their chronic symptoms.
